PLEASE IGNORE "jacksmithjsw" review 07/29/16. OUTDATED, OLD, NEEDS FIXING. I couldn't delete or edit the review, so I will write a new one here. PLEASE IGNORE the old one. Here is the updated post by me (I am jacksmithjsw). SHORT VERSION / TL;DR First time here, last time here. I came in with positive hopes, but left here mocked and maybe even marred*, literally. Don't get me wrong, if you'd like to risk a demeaning and inhumane experience, involving some scalp scraping and maybe possibly even lasting damages*, then this is your barbershop. LONG VERSION I wasn't here recently but some time ago. The guy who cut my hair treated me and cut my hair like I was his worst enemy. He roughed around with my head disrespectfully and degradingly. He used the scissors and razors roughly and harshly, and even ripped the razor right up across the back of my head a few times. Throughout the whole ordeal, it occasionally felt like he was cutting or scraping into my head. This guy is either terrible at his job, or he just really doesn't like me. The guy was a younger guy, aged probably between his mid twenties to possibly early thirties. Maybe the younger guys here lack discipline and lack care for customers. Maybe the owner accidentally or unknowingly hired a delinquent goon. Could it be because I didn't speak Mandarin and he doesn't like non-Mandarin speakers? Whatever the case, this guy should not be touching anybody's hair in a barbershop. To make things worse, I speculate the guy might have damaged my scalp permanently. When I got a buzz cut recently, I noticed some odd patches of thin hair on my head. I don't remember seeing any of these before, and the woman who gave me my buzz cut wasn't rough with the tools or anything, so it couldn't be her. Also, the prior haircuts in between were normal too. I suspect it was because of the harsh and rough treatment I got here from the guy, especially when he ripped the razor across my head. Not totally sure or even saying it is the case, but there definitely seems to be a connection between my harsh treatment and my thin patches. So here I am not claiming but simply speculating that it might be the case. MY ADVICE 1. Bottom line is, if you come here, avoid the younger barbers, especially if you don't speak Mandarin. And yes, Mandarin specifically. You better be able to speak Mandarin and not just any Chinese dialect. Otherwise, you risk being treated like dirt, being mocked like a fool, and possibly having your scalp scraped, with a possible bonus of perpetual blotches on your head.* 2. If you're really here and your barber's messing with your head or hair, stop him right there and right then. Do yourself a favor and speak out or get up. Otherwise, not only will you leave here losing some hair, but you might possibly leave here permanently losing parts of your scalp.* 3. Alternatively, just don't come here. * (Note: I am not saying that you will get damages of blotches on your head, but there’s a chance that it might be the case; if I actually received damage, then yes I can say it could actually claim it’s likely to the case for you too, but I can’t say for sure if I did receive damage) * * (Note: I am not actually claiming or saying that damage has been done to my head, but I suspect and speculate that it might be the case given the circumstances) *
