The Sales Director is responsible for all sales of company’s products in North America (US and Canada) and Europe. Tasks include building relationships and driving sales activities to generate leads and sales pipeline with strategic partners (battery manufacturers, EV manufacturers, storage system manufacturers) including managing the qualification cycle with potential partners.
•Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of company’s products and technologies, competitive products and industry trends.
•Develop in-territory partners by assisting with product pre-qualification / certification requirements and design-in program
•Have a clear understanding of partner’s applications / specifications, timeframes and requested deliverables
•Pro-actively interface with prospects and partners and support the closure of revenue opportunities
•Be the primary interface between company’s System Engineering and partners’ Engineering team during the qualification phase
•Be the primary interface between company and partners’ Purchasing Department during revenue phase
•Participate in industry trade shows and related business events to make presentations to prospects, partners and user groups, as required
•Coordinate and communicate with sales team in Asia (particularly in China) on partner strategy and goals and competitive intelligence
•Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue quota assignments for partner accounts in North America (US and Canada) and Europe
•Travel in North America and in Europe, occasionally to Asia / China
•Satisfy internal reporting requirements by submitting reports and records in accordance with company policies and practices
•Work in close collaboration with sales, marketing and R&D teams located both in Silicon Valley and in Asia (mainly China)
•Bachelor’s degree required - Business, marketing, or EE preferred. Advanced degree preferred
•5-10 years of proven sales experience in OEM, high-ticket electronic products. Experience with automotive products a plus.
•Ability to understand battery technology and be conversant at a high-level
•Strong presentation skills with executive-facing composure, and the ability to hold the interest of a technical or non-technical audience – with help from Engineering staff when dealing with advanced battery/chemistry issues
•Ability to close business while achieving a high level of partner satisfaction
•Passion for winning, a strong aptitude for business strategy, excellent collaboration skills with a wide variety of internal team members.
•Need to demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment where strong organizational skills are essential; collaboration skills with a wide variety of internal team members in a multinational environment with distributed teams across the globe.
